R and I spent the day in the field with my new boss and coworkers.
We went out to a place called the Sheep Mountain Recreation Center. It is a historic "recreation area" pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It was built in the 1930s and had a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a building where people could meet to play games and stuff. There is also a prehistoric camp site nearby. Mostly we went out to learn how to use the new GPS systems...
I should note that it was cold enough today for R to use his new coat. Glad we bought it!
We also got to see some of the countryside. The prettiest part of the day was when we stopped by the edge of the Yellowstone River. We were shocked not only to see a flowing river, but a flowing river WITH huge chunks of ice floating in it!The ice is thick enough to stand on, but we weren't brave enough to venture too far.
